Swedish Massage One of the most commonly taught and well known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Swedish massage is often used for generalized relaxation, stress reduction, relieving muscle tension, improving circulation and range of motion, health promotion and body image work. It serves as a framework with which other techniques may be combined.

Integrative Massage To integrate is to bring parts together as a whole. In the case of Integrative Massage, I may utilize a number of modalities and integrate them into a cohesive massage. The primary principles include the massage being: 1) Client-focused, so that the parts of the body addressed and the types of modalities used reflect client need. 2) Flexible, and likely to be different with each client and for each session. 3) Creative, utilizing several modalities as well as the my own creative strokes. Integrative Massage techniques tend to be slower and deeper than traditional Swedish strokes, can be very precise with specific muscle palpation, and because there is no set routine, I may not always address the full body.

Rehabilitative Massage focuses on developing anatomical and neurological precision, structural stability and pain reduction. It has a regional emphasis and concentrates on addressing common soft tissue injuries and conditions. Remedial techniques are core components of this style of massage therapy. These techniques include Cross-Fiber Friction (Cyriax), Trigger Point Therapy (Travell), and Myofascial Release (Barnes) as well as others. These techniques can be applied in a variety of situations, including injuries from accidents, car, work related and athletic injuries, repetitive use syndromes, postural tension, and overexertion.

Out-call Massage Massages will be conducted in your home. I will arrive at your home 10 - 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to set up your nurturing massage environment. I will supply all equipment (ie. massage table or chair, mat, yoga ball etc.), lotions and oils, music and sheets. All you need is an appointment.
